Lula Credle Daw, a resident of Bath, North Carolina peacefully went to live with her heavenly father at River Trace Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Washington after declining health on December 10, 2025.

    Lula Credle Daw, a resident of Bath, North Carolina peacefully went to live with her heavenly father at River Trace Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Washington after declining health on December 10, 2025. She was surrounded by her loving family.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sidney FWB Church, Belhaven, NC with the services following at 2:00 pm with Pastor David Pooser officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and men of the church.

    Lula was born in Beaufort County on September 24, 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Zinkie Credle. She graduated Bath High School in 1944 and married the love of her life, Frank Daw, on November 24, 1944, who preceded her in death on September 20, 1986. She was in the first graduating class of Nursing Assistants from Beaufort County Community College. She dedicated her time to her family by being a farm wife and a part-time worker at Rose's Discount Store, Guthrie's Grocery and Betty Whitley's Beauty Shop until she worked at Pungo District Hospital as a Nursing Assistant and continued private duty work for many years. She was always involved in her faith at Sidney FWB Church for over 75 years with participation in the Ladies Auxiliary, Sunday School teacher, member of the choir and many other committees throughout the years.

    She is survived by her daughters, Zinkie Jones (Don) of Belhaven and Vanessa Fischer of Bath; grandchildren, Amanda DeMarco (Adam) of Holly Springs, Tonya Barber (Kelly) and Apryl Davis (Shalamar) both of Goldsboro and her great-grandchildren, Anna DeMarco of Holly Springs, Kristin Pereira of Charlotte, Jaxon Barber, Ariyanna Wallace and ShaNora Wallace of Goldsboro. She is also survived by one sister, Frances Rose of Washington and three sisters-in-law Alma Joyce Credle of Belhaven, Maggie Credle and Ruby Daw of Bath.

    She is preceded in death by brothers George Credle, Frank Credle and Mayo Credle, sisters Clara Guthrie, Helen Ormond and Ruth Guthrie.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Sidney FWB Church Building Fund, 5580 Sidney Road, Belhaven NC 27810 or the Gideon Bible Ministry.

    The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of River Trace and Cardinal Hospice Care for all the special attention and outpouring of love. Also, a special thanks goes to her home health care giver, Tammy Williams, who was with her for many years.
