In New Year's message, Pope Leo supports free speech, blasts censorship | Eastern NC Now

President Trump has a new ally in defending free speech against the globalists who are pushing censorship.  In his New Year's Message, Pope Leo XIV came out strongly for free speech and against the censorship that is rampant in many European countries.

"It is regrettable to observe, particularly in the West, the space for genuine freedom of expression is being increasingly restricted, while a new language with Orwellian overtones is developing, which in its striving to be ever more inclusive, ends up excluding those who do not conform to the ideologies that inspire it", the Pope declared.

The Pope also called on the United Nations to get back to promoting peace, instead of being driven by ideologies.

The European Union's president Ursula von der Leyden, who is NOT popularly elected, recently described free speech as "a virus" and government censorship as "the vaccine".

In Germany, this month, the prime minister of the state of Schleswig-Holstein, a member of the center-right but globalist leaning Christian Democrats, called for media bans of publications whose postures the government disapproved of.

In neighboring Poland, the country's conservative president has vetoed a bill passed by the country's globalist majority parliament that would have implemented the EU's "Digital Services Act" in Poland, denouncing that legislation as Orwellian censorship of free expression by the government.
