What will the next Republican Executive Committee Meeting have in store?

Another Beaufort County Republican Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for Tuesday February 10 at 6:00 PM at the Ag Building at the airport. Most members are wondering if this will be an attempt to have another secret meeting in order to cover up the unscrupulous behavior of Queen Garris, the shadowy Victory Committee and other fellow travelers.
The attempt at the January meeting was to have a closed session, supposedly to take up items identified on the agenda only as “Old Business and New Business”. The problem with having a closed session “secret meeting’ by a public political organization is public trust. The rules of the Beaufort County Republican Party (called the Plan of Organization) do not have a provision for a closed session. There are good reasons for this. If the rules of the party are followed there is never a reason for a secret meeting. The County Executive Committee represents every registered Republican in the county. How can there be secret political meetings and then “tell Republicans how to vote”. This group has already proven themselves to be untrustworthy and now they want a secret meeting to cover up their bad behavior.
Every Republican in Beaufort County has the right and privilege of attending Executive Committee meetings. One of the stated duties of the Committee is to encourage loyalty to the Republican Party. This cannot be accomplished in secret meetings. Politicians are difficult enough to trust when one can see them much less in secret meetings.
Will there be guards at the doors to keep me, Janet Knight and Sheri Clark, out of the meeting? What about the right of the public to attend and see how their party operates?
One issue that has to be resolved is who is legitimately on the Executive Committee? After many requests and writing a letter to the State Republican Party Garris produced a list of 46 names. Originally, during the county convention, there were 49 volunteers. This means three people have been removed. Two of those are Janet Knight and Sheri Clark. The third is unknown. Under the attendance rules this means we have had perfect compliance with the attendance rules????
Garris and Knight’s names were taken off the Committee list so Garris could have an advantage in liberals and RINO votes on the Committee. Again, this is Queen Garris acting unilaterally without the required approval of the Executive Committee. Garris by herself cannot remove anyone from anything.
Another unresolved issue is that Garris and the Secretary of the party, Gail Breed, approved by signing the old Plan of Organization the same day as the Convention was held without making the change in the way members are elected to the Executive Committee. My complaints to the Republican Party in Raleigh have fallen on deaf ears. Garris and Breed have no authority to approve the Plan without the approval of the Executive Committee.
Any member of the Executive Committee has the right to request that items be placed on the agenda. Garris had such a request at the January meeting. She chose not to spell out those items on the written agenda. She listed only “New Business and Old Business”. The secret meeting with two people whom she knew would not support her shenanigans off the committee would have allowed her to cosmetically try to cover up the unethical and disloyal behavior of her group. This is another cheap trick to win an election.
Who authorized the spending of the $10,465.00 to have the videos made attacking myself, Adam O’Neal and other conservatives during the Municipal elections? The Executive Committee never did. Who is going to pay the money back to the Republican Party?
Who is on the shadowy “Victory Committee”?
The required 39-day report filed with the Board of Elections does not show who donated several thousand dollars for this effort. Some of those people are not pleased with how this money was used.
There are many notices of violation in filing procedures with the Board of Elections that have not been addressed. How and who will do that?
Garris has never notified the Executive Committee nor addressed the threatened lawsuit attacking Adam O’Neal. When challenged, she said she had her own attorney. This indicated to me that the members of the Executive Committee are on their own. But the Executive Committee never approved the spending of the money or the preparation of the videos.
Bottom line, who is Garris covering up for and will the tactic of ignoring the lawsuit work?

That's what all this is.....a buncha POO kayfabe; it's like something Vince Jr and (Jim) Cornette would script out. The Old Man, Clark and Knight are being portrayed as the "Heels" and Garris/Breed/Kidwell/etc are being portrayed as "babyfaces". IMO, this looks like a localized "regime change" effort. Somebody knows something the public doesn't know BUT certain parts of the GOP have put together more than "somebody" realizes. Gail Breed, What a liar and distorter of facts you are. Queen Garris and several of your ilk are making all the decisions in the back room. The Executive Committee has not made a voting decision that I recall during the past year. Garris along with the victory committee produce these edicts. None of them comply with the Republican Party rules.
I closed the Beaufort County Conservative Republican PAC independently with no directive or advice from the Board of Elections. When the whole truth comes out about what is going on among the Queen Garris and her cronies, the public is going to vomit. |

What hogwash. The Chair and her inner circle do not have the legitimate power to be the Executive Committee unilaterally. I've spoken with many of the Conservative Republican Club members that are also on the Beaufort County Republican Party Executive Committee. They all said that in Conservative Club meetings, they have given the recusal vote speech on some matters because of conflict of interest so many times that most of them don't even do it anymore for the sake of time. They just don't vote or vote recuse. If the present-day Beaufort County Republican Party would have a hearing this all could come out, but that is not what these power mongers want. They want an exclusive party and sole control of it.
The way this is going under the 'leadership' of these monsters, an executive committee meeting will be listening to speeches from their favorites, finish running all (those undesirable-to them), conservatives off, sing a little self-congratulation song, and let that shadowy "Victory Committee," who-ever-they-are, handle all the Executive Committee business and report to no one. This is not an executive committee operating under the Plan of Organization. It is the Mafia. These people have illegally erased the results of the last county convention and are now illegally running the party with an illegal shadow committee. They are not operating under any legal Republican Party Plan of Organization. |

It is difficult in the age of multimedia to discern truth within an opinion piece. Sometimes the author will leave out accurate information or twist the circumstances to provide a narrative that sounds believable but is in fact unbelievable.
First the Beaufort County (BC) Republican Party does not stand outside of the Plan of Organization (POO). The content of the document is reviewed and edited to remain accurate with the State Republican POO. The BC Republican members working within the Party are first identified at the grass roots level in a Precinct meeting. All BC Republicans are encouraged to attend to select Precinct Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. They also will select delegates and alternates to the BC County Convention and the District and State Conventions. The number of delegates and alternates is based on the total number of Republicans in each precinct. This is the way our US Constitutional Republic works at all levels of the Republican Party. A nation of the people, by the people and for the people. Removal from the Republican Party happens for either of two reasons. First unexcused absences, or second party disloyalty. Party disloyalty was the reason Hood Richardson, a precinct secretary, and two other Executive Committee members were immediately dismissed from the BC Republican Party. What they did during the City Council elections, knowingly or not, was to create a handout and held a meet & greet encouraging voting for non-republican candidates over Republican candidates. How did this happen? Hood Richardson has chaired for several years a Republican club. The members, some who are BC Executive Committee members, voted to approve the content of the handout and organize a Meet & Greet. During their meeting they were advised this could be party disloyalty. So, what are the consequences of party disloyalty? Hood Richardson and the other two, remain Republicans. Like the public they can attend the Executive Committee meetings as “Guests. They will sign in to be admitted. While they can listen to the proceeding, they no longer can vote or be recognized to speak. Hood Richardson’s Pac dissolved, based on public record by the Board of Elections for irregular campaign finance. In contrast the funding acquired and used by the BC Republican Party is monitored by the NC State Republican Party. But there is more to consider regarding the content of “ANTICIPATION”. The last two BC Republican meetings (Dec and Jan) were disrupted by Hood Richardson and some members of the defunct Pac. Robert’s Rule of Order is the standard for conducting meetings. Robert’s Rule of Order is used at the County Convention, the District and State conventions. The guidelines include requirements for the development of the agenda, reporting of meeting minutes and how the body interacts with the Chair. Motions, discussion and voting are the bedrock actions needed to complete the work of the BC Executive Committee. Members of the Executive Committee have varying levels of experience participating in meetings using these rules. However, common sense dictates there is no place for fingerprinting or attacking individuals, in general issues are to be discussed after a motion is made and seconded. Some supporters of Hood Richardson’s defunct Pac are also BC executive committee members. To my knowledge very few if any, participate in fundraising efforts or volunteer at other BC Republican events. They seem to follow the lead of Hood Richardson and will verbally attack individuals while misusing Robert’s Rule of Order to create chaos. Stopping a meeting and having to call the police is a perfect example of the level of chaos Hood Richardson created. Just as BC County Commissioners meet for closed-door sessions, there is nothing preventing the BC Executive meeting from having closed-door sessions. Especially when in response to the chaos created by Hood Richardson and company. At the January meeting the agenda was followed with the public hearing about the upcoming events for the Republican Q & A Forum and the annual Reagan Republican Rally dinner. Everyone listened to the Republicans running in the primary. There was a ten-minute break so all could speak one-on-one with candidates and then the closed-door session was to begin. Chaos began once the public and candidates left the building. Hood Richardson and company refused to leave, a shouting match began, police were called, and the meeting was adjourned. Mr. Richarson and company were escorted out to the sidewalk yet continued to complain to exiting Executive Committee members. The Chair was escorted by two police officers to provide her with a safe exit. In short, when anyone points a belligerent finger at the BC Republican Executive Committee, there are three fingers pointing back to them. What is the real goal of Hood Richardson? Well, it maybe he wants to separate grassroot Republican voters from the political structure supporting all Republican voters, at the precinct, district, state and national level. Or now that his Pac is defunct, he is planning to become the chair of the BC Republican Party- oh no it can’t be that because of his party disloyalty. Or could it be he is simply not good at reporting and generates biased opinion articles to influence voters? After all, remember he has been a registered Democrat or Unaffiliated only to become a registered Republican to run as a County Commissioner. Whatever his reasons, please consider exercising discernment if you are reading his articles. |

The really stinky stuff has not been written about yet. Queen Garris and the Victory Committee see it coming so they are trying to deflect. The gossip sites are becoming active about people who are not directly involved in the Beaufort POO.
