    Margie Rose Beaman Stafford, age 90, of Chocowinity, North Carolina, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 16, 2026, at home surrounded by love.

    A visitation will be held February 1, 2026 at 2:00 pm, followed by a memorial service in the chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, officiated by Pastor Ray Lewis. Burial will take place at Pinewood Memorial Park in Greenville at a later date.

    Margie was born in Pitt County, North Carolina, on March 21, 1935, to the late William Joseph Beaman and Susan Goff Beaman. A proud graduate of Greenville High School, Margie began what would become a remarkable lifelong career with the E.H. Taft family, now known as Taft Family Properties. For more than 60 years, Margie faithfully served the Taft family, and her work was more than a job-she was far more than an employee, caring deeply for those she worked with, forming close, lasting bonds built on trust and respect, and became a vital part of the company's history.

    Margie shared over 48 beautiful years of marriage with her cherished husband, Johnnie Douglas Stafford, who preceded her in death. Together, they built a family rooted in love, faith, and compassion.

    Margie found joy in life's simple blessings. She loved spending precious time with her family and friends. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she loved God deeply. She was a member of Ballard's Community Baptist Church. Those who knew Margie will remember her gentle spirit, warm smile, and quiet strength. Her joy and kindness were a reflection of the faith she lived every day.

    She is lovingly survived by her daughter-in-law, Janet Beaman; her cherished grandchildren, Donna Beachum and her husband Benjamin, William Scott Beaman and his wife Crystal; her beloved, great grandchildren, Brandon McLawhorn, William Blake McLawhorn and wife Ashley, Jaron Beaman, and wife Brittany, Josh Beaman, Celeste Sanders, Tristan Griffin, and Lane Redmond; and her precious, great-great grandchildren Juliyanne, Jaxon, Jace, and Stella Beaman; Bryson, Caylee, Ava, and Eloise Faye McLawhorn, each of whom brought her immense joy.

    She is also survived by her nieces, Vandy Massey and Renae Koloff; and nephews, Kenneth and Jeffrey Beaman.

    In addition to her husband, Margie was preceded in death by her beloved son, William Donald Beaman; her brothers, Malcom and Ernest Beaman; and her sister, Grace Tripp.

    Margie's legacy of faith, love, and dedication to family touched countless lives. She will be remembered with love and gratitude, and her spirit will live on through all who knew her.
