First Lady Ann McCrory and Alice Forest Join Together to Support Military Families | Eastern North Carolina Now

Press Release:

Raleigh, NC     First Lady Ann McCrory and Lieutenant Governor Dan Forest's wife, Alice are teaming up to support military families throughout the Christmas season here in North Carolina.

Operation Home Front is a registered 501(c)(3) that supports the families of those soldiers who are deployed.

"Alice and I are dedicated to providing support to our state's military families," said First Lady Ann McCrory. "Christmas is a time for giving with a spirit of love and gratitude. It is a time to care for friends and strangers alike. Please consider lending a hand to the families of those who keep our nation safe and free."

There is a small Family Readiness Group (FRG) in Fayetteville that consists of 15 families. All of these families will be celebrating Christmas without their husbands/fathers this year, as they are currently deployed and serving their country.

If anyone is interested in supporting this Family Readiness Group, Alice Forest and First Lady Ann McCrory will be collecting Target and WalMart gift cards, checks or notes of encouragement made payable to Operation Home Front by December 13th, 2013.

Donations can be mailed or delivered to 310 N. Blount Street, Raleigh, North Carolina, 27601.

"Christmas is a very special time of the year," said Alice Forest. "I am reminded of the many freedoms my family can enjoy because of the dedicated men and women who serve our nation away from home. This is a difficult time of year to be without someone you love, which is why First Lady Ann McCrory and I felt so strongly about helping however we are able. This is one small way we hope the people of North Carolina will help us rally around these families to let them know that we are thankful and they are loved."
