The first thing I did this morning, was to put the windows down. I heard the wind rev up before day break. The wind nearly howled and a hail storm of acorns made an awful racket, on the old farmhouse.

I barely made the early service, this morning. A light rain was falling and it compelled me to linger a few extra moments.

I was up this morning, when the territory was dark and silent. I especially wanted to see the sunrise on the snow, again.

I am beginning to "sound like a broken record" . . . but, it is raining at the rabbit patch.

I always say when I am on any sort of break, that for now. . . I am a writer! I announce it on Fridays when I come in the back door of the rabbit patch and Christian laughs every time.

My affair with snow is quickly on the decline. The snow that lingers around the barns, and under the pines is hardly snow at all anymore.

The first day of winter is here, and with it "the longest evening of the year." I do not begrudge the way of winter.

Rain has fallen the last few days at the rabbit patch-and everywhere around it. The sidewalks end a long ways from the rabbit patch and the yard is muddy.
