On June 10, 2011 at approximately 7:15 p.m., the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office received a report of a breaking and entering and larceny at a residence on Vermont Avenue in Washington, NC.

On Friday June 10, Washington Police arrested Michael Robb Burrus Ballantyne age 19 of Bonner Street for 10 felony charges.

Vashti Morris Vaughan, 83, of 114 School St., Pinetops, died Friday, June 10, 2011, in her home. A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kelford Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Spivey officiating. Burial will follow at Kelford-Roxebel Cemetery.

This year's budget process was pretty much the same as the previous year's...and the year before. The only real difference is that they have much less in their reserve account so they simply plan to raise taxes.
