On Friday and Saturday, August 5-6, the Association of Mexicans in North Carolina (AMEXCAN) and the consulate general of Mexico set up shop in the Greenville Convention Center , Greenville to give identification to illegal immigrants in order that they can work in the state and vote.

On August 8th, 2011 at approximately 9:37 p.m., Deputy Thomas Salinas of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division was patrolling the River Road area of Washington, NC.

On August 8th, 2011 at approximately 12:32 a.m., Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office assisted the North Carolina State Highway Patrol with an arrest at a license check point at the intersection of Highway 33 and Mill Road in Chocowinity, NC.

On July 15, 2011, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a Larceny that occurred at a business on Highway 33 East in Chocowinity, NC. The victim reported $1,000 worth of stainless steel had been stolen from the business.
