What skills are needed to successfully lead and manage Beaufort County Schools?

John Valley: At the latest NCACC Annual Conference, one of the sessions was 'how new schools made for better students.'

I learn so much from these annual conferences, when I have the time to attend, about what NOT to do as a county commissioner, and how to better consider what an innovative elected official should rather concern themselves with.

I go to these conferences to study why so many elected local officials embrace massively inefficient governing practices in their joint effort to celebrate the boldly ineffective bureaucrat(s).

It is an ongoing study for me.

Corrupt politicians not only take away the People's wealth, they take away the People's hope; they take away our confidence in a Good System forged by our Founders, long before the Non Patriot Leftists sought to destroy it all.

Washingtonian: You make good points; I knew what you meant. I was using you as a perfect pivot in my debate on the issue of corruption, which folks like Big Bob 2.0 are much in favor of; the entire current Democratic Socialist party is completely built upon abject corruption.

Stan, I only used the term "old" men because BB did.
I am fully aware that corrupt people come in all ages, races, genders AND political affiliations.
I just want those "workers of the system" to know that when you work the system, to your favor, or for the favor of friends, YOU are TAKING AWAY from the rest of the people.
Cheaters are stealing from the well-being of the people of the community, as a whole. Its criminal.
Voters get the Govt they deserve. Dear Voters please remember, its in a politician's genes to make you like him. Dont be a useful idiot.

Now that the "Sadlergate" turd has been dropped, I wonder if anyone still remembers that our School Board is facing student enrollment decline, due to population decrease ("COVID", retirement community and lack of good paying jobs) but yet want to build two mega schools to house students we don't have?

Since I last talked about this, it has been told to me that students from WASHINGTON COUNTY are going to Bear Grass Charter School.... completely bypassing Beaufort County.

This ain't a political party problem; this is a community problem that "We,The People" need to fix...together. Greater Beaufort County, of all backgrounds, is putting 2 and 2 together.

Waters gave money to a Democrat legislator who had a GOP opponent during his first run for county commissioner when he was a recently switched "Republican". He was caught in contributing to and supporting the Democrat nominee for sheriff in 2022.

This year, Waters is openly supporting the Cox challenge to our Republican incumbent sheriff. Cox also openly supported the Democrat nominee for sheriff in 2022. Cox's team also seems to be supporting the leftwing Democrat mayor of Washington, Sadler due to a number of houses that sport both Cox and Sadler signs. So Waters may be on the wrong side of that race, too.

I'm waiting for Waters to publish his political contribution list. But we've already got a representative sample of it.

It ain't some government secret that some old school (now) Republicans used to be Conservative NASCAR Democrats back in the day. If there was still a Conservative wing of the old school Democrat party in existence, many of us would probably be card carrying members.

The Old Man's problem is that, because of certain things he may not be aware of or briefed on, he gets baited into scenarios where he appears as the "crazy old man" who doesn't know what the hell he's talking about....by default of the scriptwriters.

Hood, Stan and maybe Dunn should present a PowerPoint and take comments from the public/parents about why there is a unilateral attempt to cover up the reasons why students are REALLY leaving Beaufort County Schools.

Randy is in on the actual conspiracy to hide the truth from Greater Beaufort County. He knows that if the right people start publicly asking questions, they, the character actors that make up a majority of the school board, got a collosal turd in a punchbowl.

Bath parent: I notice that you sent this same comment as you did earlier, on this very same post ... Earlier.

I am allowing this comment to be published because, by allowing its publishing a second time, I am giving you the opportunity to correct your glaring grammatical errors ... Or NOT, as this case certainly is here in this most recent edition.

This was only a minor rain event. Imagine that school site in a hurricane or other major rain event. I guess they can eliminate it as a candidate for a hurricane shelter. This whole school plan appears to have been concocted in the backroom by people with little real world business experience. It has sadly been a comedy of errors that unfortunately our school children will ultimately pay for, along with our suffering taxpayers. Beaufort County deserves better.

Nelson Lambert: It is the lowest point of the land, but, my good golly gonkers, have they spent some big money on that site preparation.

Thanks CV for the truth telling, and yes, Frankie generally votes Center - Left /Left.

Speaking of Waters...has anybody seen or caught a photo of the new school there in Washington with this rain. Hope it doesn't have to doggy paddle to the higher ground while searching for its title.

Hood Derangement Syndrome is a head problem closely related to Trump Derangement Syndrome, just on a more localized level. It looks like someone could use some professional help.

The Republican-Lite Commissioners oppose DOGE here in Beaufort County to cut down on wasteful and unnecessary spending, which tells you all you need to know about those spendthrifts Waters and Walker. Not only has Trump had great success with DOGE at the national level, but NC Republicans are implementing it in Raleigh, headed by our own Keith Kidwell. But here in Beaufort County, Waters and Walker take the same position on it locally as Schumer and Pelosi and AOC do in DC. How can they call themselves "Republicans" with a straight face?

I have never heard of Richardson making a campaign financial contribution to any Democrats while holding office as a Republican elected official. Frankie Waters got caught doing that in the 2022 general election campaign. Frankie is as phony as a three peso bill.

Bath Parent: RINOs are a huge problem in Beaufort County for Real Republicans. Declaring oneself a Republican to get elected, and then governing as a Democrat is an act of political fraud.

With you being a Democrat, Bath Parent; this really is NOT your fight, however, if, as a Democrat, you wish to continue to extol the virtues of these RINOs amongst us, please feel free to continue here ... We need the comedic relief.

Wow funny you call out Frankie and Randy for being former Dems but not Hood!! Just shows you all know nothing you are talking about!! Just think Hood not Stan have never been Chair think there is an issue. I have business people all the time tell me they will never come to se up jobs here because of those 2. So who is hurting the population? Time for the people to have a gut check

There is an issue all right. We have phony baloney imposters running as Republicans who have always been closet Democrats. They get on the county commission and then act like Democrats instead of Republicans. The Democrat commissioners are smart enough to play them like Bill Clinton's saxophone. They are being used by the Democrats and the fools think they not the Democrats are in charge.

Republicans have not had real control of the county commission in a long time due to poseurs masquerading as "Republicans". These collaborators have handed over real control to the admitted Democrats for years. Heck, Frankie Waters even supported and contributed to the Democrat nominee for Sheriff in the last election. He is about as much of a Republican as Kamala Harris is. Randy Walker started out in the middle between the real Republicans and the phonies, but he is now firmly in collaborator camp.
Commented: Monday, August 11th, 2025 @ 12:23 pm By: Conservative Voter
What BP does not seem to grasp is that our county commission has been controlled by a trans-partisan alliance for decades that is as unnatural as a transsexual. Real Republicans like Richardson, Deatherage, and Dunn are shunted to the side. Nominal leadership is in fake Republicans, sometimes called RINOs or Undocumented Democrats or Biden Republicans or Democrats in Drag, but they rely on actual Democrats for their majority, and therefore are essentially controlled by the actual Democrats.

The two "tranny" fake Republicans propping up the current liberal trans-partisan coalition are Frankie Waters and Randy Walker. Both are former Democrats, whose "switch" to Republican was only a facade. Replacing Waters with a real Republican in the 2026 primary wil finally collapse this trans-partisan nightmare

You say everything to explain the problem 28 years as a commissioner and the county population has gone down. You have done nothing in 28 years nothing not one achievement.

Van Zant: You bring up several interesting points that I would recommend folks to think long and hard about. Ain't none of it a crackpot "conspiracy theory"; it's called: "common sense".

From what my intuition and situational awareness skills are telling me, Cheeseman's consolidation "pump and dump" plan could easily go to hell in a handbasket if county communities started approaching commissioners with proposals to secure their future...where both sides benefit.

I could see a funny hypothetical scenario where even guys like Ol' Unca Frankie would champion (in his olde English accent), under the Republican/NASCAR Democrat banner, "Charter Schools for the soundside and Edgewater parts of the county". If he holds course, folks are liable to start talking crap over'air at the fire department if they see him out there.

Cheeseman is past the point of no return. I think Rader and Hickman knows this. If the public opinion were to shift on Cheeseman, I have a good idea about what'd happen
