4/27/26 at 1:30pm: Budget Workshop

Tyre is a power bully and he is corrupt. He is a one man cancer on our city government. Perraultr needs to gumption to not let himself be bullied by Tyre.

I think Tyre is describing himself here.

City Councilman Anthony Tyre wrote:
The Dunning–Kruger effect is when limited understanding creates inflated confidence, people who know the least often speak the most certain.
Next time, I think I will clock him to see how many minutes he rants/rambles out of a single hour.
If someone would use a "point of order" on his speech, maybe the City meetings wouldnt be so LONG!

no, no, no.
Fritz got the most votes from the Citizens of Washington, then of all the other candidates.
If there had been a boycott against his business, there would have an explosion of new customers to offset that boycott.
Regardless, it is urgent that he rescind this bad decision, and come back fighting. He has the ability to organize supporters if he will just ask. We are not mind reader.
People often think they are alone...when they are NOT.

Beaufort County citizens living outside Washington are fortunate as Washington has been a circus since the death of former Mayor Mac Hodges. First they had the self serving strongarm high tax Sadler faction. Then they thought they had fixed it with a new team. Unfortunately, things are not going so well with that team. Joe Davis has turned out to have a tendency to shoot from the hip and go off half cocked. He probably means well, but he tends to open his mouth and engage his keyboard without fully thinking things through. Tyre is pure evil, and Horton is his wingman. Perrault tries to play both sides, and has gotten in bed with Tyre more than he should. Fritz was the only sane guy up there and now he is gone. Brabo as mayor has not set the world on fire, but at least she is honest for a change.

If you live outside of Washington, you can get out the popcorn and watch the soap opera. If you have the misfortune to live in Washington, however, it is a tax nightmare.

The rumblings I heard did not specify the nature of the threat, but if it were a possible boycott, a common tactic of the left, then beating a hasty retreat would be the path of least resistance.

If Fritz's business is being threatened, it is safer for him to be on the council than off it.
In my opinion, Brabo's business would already be shut down if she wasnt Mayor. Tho I do believe she has lost control over her Mayorship. Letting the 3 avengers run roughshod over Davis was a disgrace. They took Davis' HRC position away, then tried to nominate Tyre to it. He begged his way off, whining that he was already a liaison for 2 committees. Well suck it up buttercup bec u guys are now going to have to double down on committee jobs.

I have heard rumblings that some of the dark political forces in our city may have made threats against Fritz' business. Don't know if that is true, and whether or not it is true, I would expect Fritz to protect his business by denying it. Fritz defending that pair smacks of him trying to placate somebody for something, and that makes those rumblings even more believable.

Concerned Taxpayer, In Nick Fritz Facebook post, he defended Sadler and Tyre. WHY? Does anyone know?
I will never forget Tyre telling a constituent: "If you dont like how we do things, hire a lawyer."
Well Brabo did and look at the mess that has caused. She had to do it, unlike most of us) because she had a business to defend. So I dont blame her at all.
I know that Perreault was calling for everyone to be a team player. Well, I cant forget that is what manager Russell was doing right after he demoted the police chief...calling that demoted police chief a team player.
Those are all peculiar things to me. Or i should say personnel CONTROL strategies by govt.

Perrault letting himself get sucked into Trye's war with Bobby Roberson, the only insider in city government I trust, was the first sign of a problem. Tyre fanning the flames of a split between Davis and Perrault was the biggest problem, and both of them got suckered into that situation. Then they go and hire a career bureaucrat with a questionable history and pay him more than a US Senator to be a city manager of a town of under 10K population. That scoundrel Tyre has played them like a fiddle..

Councilman Fritz said: "Democracy is a sham.
The government is run by a bureaucracy. Department’s decide what they think is best, they set their own budgets and formulate their own recommendations."

Ya'll didnt just think that the bureaucrats were going to simply rollover and play dead did ya?
Divide and conquer is a good gameplan and it looks like that was played. Someone got to Perreault who promptly sided with Horton and Tyre, who (Tyre) dominated all the meetings with rig-a-ma-roll, making simple folks heads explode, and/or feeling like the world has gone mad.
The first week of the new council should have been to fire all the Dept heads and replace all the rot on the committees...(people who have been on these for many years, playing like Gods.)

Did Nick Fritz really just resign from the city council?
I say dont let him. Tell the City Council NOT TO ACCEPT his resignation.

The key test of this city council will be the tax cuts. Taxpayers need to see at least a 5 or 6 cent cut. A 1 to 3 cent cut would be only window dressing and this council would have failed.

I am concerned about Max Perrault being too chummy with the current leader of the corrupt tax-and-spend Sadler machine. What is going on there?

Is Facebook the only place the citizens can see the Washington Council meetings?? I dont know why Facebook is ever used as any part of Govt.
I tried to watch yesterday in real time, the volume is so low I had to use closed captions. Even then it seemed to me that the members were speaking gibberish. Have you ever been in a room full of smart people and none of them will say, Hey I hear your words, but you arent making any sense. I think that most of the people at that table were unable to understand each other, and they are afraid to be honest about it. How can the new manager lead, when his bosses are speaking chimp talk.
I think Washington has gone from the kettle into the fire.

I would like to see a whole lot of useless City STAFF, fired.
The level of attentiveness some put to their jobs is what a carpenter or some handymen might call, "Close enough for Government Work."
In other words its not of a great quality but it will get by. The Council members who tolerate it are just as much to blame.
