    Allen Randolph Sikes died on April 22, 2014 at his home in Bath.

    Born on May 25, 1940 in Hamilton, North Carolina, Allen was the son of Raymond Leroy Sikes and Audrey Alligood and lived at the home of his loving aunt, Mrs. Annie Rae Jefferson Sikes Allen.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 25, 2014 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Cleve Edwards and Dennis R. Davis. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

    Pallbearers will be Gary Sikes, Ray Sikes, Wayne Sikes, Billy Boyd, Adam Sullivan, David Sikes, James Russell Boyd, and Bennie Ambrose. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bath Ruritan Club members.

    Allen graduated from Bath High School in 1958. He proudly served his country as a member of the US Army and served honorably overseas. During his military service, Allen married the love of his life, Donna Ormond, also of Bath, in 1963.

    Allen was a successful business owner and recently retired as owner of A&D WaterCare of Washington, which he operated with Donna from 1988 until retirement in 2012. Allen repeatedly received accolades for his work ethic and sales expertise, and he was named salesman of the year for the national company several times. Allen was also an active member of the Bath Ruritan Club and supported many civic activities. Ever caring about his fellow man, Allen sought to mentor and assist others throughout his life. Allen was a member of Athens Chapel Church of Christ and attended Everett's Church of Christ.

    Allen loved his family and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife Donna, his daughter LeRae Sikes Umfleet, her husband Wayne Christopher Umfleet and their sons Alexander Chadwick and Fletcher Harrison who will miss their PaDaddy greatly.

    Allen also left behind a large circle of friends and family who will celebrate his life, including brother Earl and wife Norma of Kensington, Maryland, brother Lindsay and wife Sandra of Washington, and sister Marie Welch of Neptune Beach, Florida. Allen was preceded in death by his brother David Daniel Sikes and sister Audrey Leigh Boyd.

    The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, April 24, 2014 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.
