Gene Scarborough: Yesterday's post on Facebook | Eastern North Carolina Now

Yesterday's post on Facebook (HTTPS://www.Facebook.com/gene.scarborough1) got some great response. It even drew an extremist on "secular humanist" public education! I have heard that one from the fundies who took over Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in the late 80's. With that change, Dr. Bill Friday, noted Chancellor of UNC and excellent interviewer of movers and shakers in NC had an interview with Dr. Page Patterson, the incoming new President of SEBTS (and 1 or 2 who pulled off the theft by hook and crook of the Pharisees they are).

Dr. Friday prefaced his interview with a wise observation: "Perhaps, the most important event to take place in NC over the last 100 years is the change at SEBTS. They send the most preachers to Baptist pulpits in the towns and villages of NC. It spills over to VA and SC. By changing the Seminary from a middle-of-the-road theological and educational stance, to a school of extreme Right Wing Conservative outlook, people across this state will listen to mini-Rush Limbaughs/W.A. Criswells fill the sermon time with anger and pressure to vote a certain political ticket each election."

Now, to another point with the vast difference Romney pays in taxes vs. a Teacher:

The Personal Income Tax was initiated after WWI as a "temporary tax to pay the war debt." We all know the rest of that story!

If we were not paying tax on income, at lot would be so much more simple for everyone. The highest paid lawyers and accountants deal in the area of income taxation. Never have the legislators had a code that was really fair to all. A simple flat tax would work far better than the monster we have now.

My problem with Income tax is how the US "philosophy of taxation" is being used to direct minds of individuals from poor to rich and corps of all types.

Reaganomics, commonly called "voodoo" economics, has gone on many years and the current busted economy is a direct result.

Ideally, it reduces the tax on the biggest earners ON THE ASSUMPTION THAT they spend the saved taxes expanding their business / hiring more people / having money to invest in US Banks and financial activities.

It came out of the Chicago School of Finance. The hidden advisers for the rich immediately called up the descendants of Al Capone. They now have fancy Chicago degrees in money management to find the benefits quietly negotiated by the rich / for the rich / on behalf of busting an economy with GREED!!!

'NUFF SAID to start another good day of discussions???? I hope so!!
