Beaufort County Sheriff's Department Arrests Two People For Drug Posession | Eastern North Carolina Now

    On June 19, 2014, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Stacy Coveil Holloway, age 50, of 464 Pantego Street in Belhaven and James Ross, age 68, of 1284 Swamp Road in Pantego. Investigators knew Ross had an active arrest warrant for Possession of Heroin when they witnessed Ross driving a vehicle in Washington with Holloway as the passenger. Investigators conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and placed Ross under arrest. K-9 Elza assisted Investigators in locating heroin packaged in wax paper bindles and marijuana from the vehicle. Investigators were also familiar with Holloway due to him being the target of an investigation involving the distribution of prescription pain medication in the Belhaven area. Investigators in the Drug Unit conducted controlled purchases of trafficking amounts of Hydrocodone (Schedule III Controlled Substance) from Holloway.

    James Ross was arrested and charged with two counts of Possession of Heroin, two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Maintaining a Vehicle to Facilitate Drug Activity. Stacy Holloway was arrested and charged with Level II Trafficking in Opiates, Possession of Less than 1/2 Ounce of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Ross was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $20,000 secured bond, while Holloway was confined under a, $11,000 secured bond.
