Fentanyl, Cocaine, and Methamphetamine Seized in Recent Drug Arrests | Eastern NC Now

During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.

    During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges. These arrests are the result of conducting controlled purchases of illegal drugs, proactive patrolling in high crime areas and the execution of search warrants on known drug dealers.

    Dangerous drugs seized off the streets of Beaufort County as a result of these recent felony cases include 9 grams of cocaine, 30 grams of methamphetamine and 120 grams of fentanyl.

    According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 2 milligrams of fentanyl is considered to be a lethal dose. These seizures by Deputies is enough fentanyl to potentially cause 60,000 fatal overdoses.

    The following individuals were charged:

    39-year-old Brandon Jamar Bell of Goldsboro, NC was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $400,000 secured bond and charged with:

  • (3) counts of Trafficking in Fentanyl by Possession
  • (1) count of Felony Maintain a Vehicle to Keep and Sell Controlled Substances

    40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $30,000 secured bond and charged with:

  • (1) count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine

    57-year-old Richard Keith Barnes of Aurora, NC was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond and charged with:

  • (1) count of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine
  • (1) count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    23-year-old Dekevion Malik Roulhac of Washington, NC was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $60,000 secured bond and charged with:

  • (1) count of Trafficking in Fentanyl by Possession

    32-year-old Donald Leon Keech Jr. of Belhaven, NC was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond and charged with:

  • (2) counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine
  • (1) count of Felony Possession of Methamphetamine

    28-year-old William Alexander Branch of Blounts Creek, NC was arrested and held in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond and charged with:

  • (1) count of Felony Possession of Fentanyl
  • (1) count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

    32-year-old Ebony Taliah Lawrence of Washington, NC was arrested and held in the Wake County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond and charged with:

  • (1) count of Trafficking in Fentanyl by Possession

On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.
On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
