I am the first of the Baby Boomers, born in 1946. My father and grandfather both lived through the Great Depression brought on by greed and selfish business practices. The rich got richer / the poor got poorer. It was the most awful economic era in US history, but after a continued Great Recession; we are not far behind since 1988.

Here is an insightful article concerning what my father told me: "Son, you don't elect a man, you elect a party philosophy with each President and Congress."

These are simple facts and let the chips fall where they may. They do not jive with the typical article pervading Beaufort County Now. Every 4 years of my life I have seen the changes

No party is perfect. LBJ kept us in war and death as I carried my draft card. Nixon lied about getting us out of Vietnam quickly. They sucked the Social Security Trust Fund into the General Budget to cover the abject cost of that war in SE Asia. We are still in war and here are the facts of that spending

If the Trickle Down Theory of taxation worked, we would not be in a continued Recession since the economy crashed under Bush. It was so deep that it has taken 6 years under the current President to improve. Now, the public gives him a significant upturn in his ratings. Sorry about that to those of the "Do Nothing" Congress of the last years --- and now what we have on steroids for the next 2.

I already have enough preview information on the President's State of the Union speech to know what he is going to recommend. I know enough to see clearly how the new Republican Majority will react and moan.

Here is but one of their Commentators already putting out his venom:

Sorry about that folks. The party DOES make a difference

and check the facts over such . . .

Some will want to debate this, but before you get your licks in on me, ask yourself:

    •  Is NC better off now than 4 years ago when we elected a Republican Governor?

    •  Are we going to benefit from Fracking and changed Tax Code favoring the rich?

    •  We already have a budget from a Governor and Legislature that tax income is not supporting, so are we really better off or not?"

Beware of foolish answers lest you meet up with Rushee and make a total fool of yourself . . .
