Washington's 4th Annual "Dancing with our Stars" | Eastern North Carolina Now

Now in its 4th year, it's time again for DANCING WITH OUR STARS!

This year is sure to continue the tradition and fellowship of Eagle's Wings, Janet Cox and Le Moulin Rouge de Danse, and the entire community of Beaufort County.

Every year progresses into a program that is sure to entertain. With the tremendous success and support we got last year, we've put together a whole new show that features many new groups of dancers all working to raise awareness and money for the mission of Eagle's Wings.

The purpose of Eagle's Wings is to minister to Beaufort County residents. Our hope is to alleviate the immediate hunger needs of the impoverished and homeless in Beaufort County, which is a Tier 1 county in North Carolina. Under the current tier formula, a county's status is determined by its unemployment rate, median household income, and percentage of population growth. Tier 1 counties are the poorest in the rankings. Beaufort County has about 46,000 residents and a poverty rate of 16.6% (2007 US Census Bureau estimate).

Eagle's Wings provides food to the impoverished in Beaufort County. We are the largest food pantry in the county, and we provide assistance each week to the people in the area. We also distribute fresh vegetables which have been gleaned from fields across the state and local gardens, too!

Applicants are required to bring income and expenditure records to our caseworkers. Additionally, counseling is provided in areas of money management and budget preparation. We feel strongly that it is essential for our clients to see where their money is going. Families may come to Eagle's Wings for food once a month.

Your effort and support helps this mission continue through our motto, "Christian Love in Action!"
