    Mrs. Ethel "Tippie" Asby Alligood, age 72, a resident of 6930 U.S. Hwy 264 East, Washington, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at her home.

    Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 10, 2015 from the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, conducted by Tony Krantz. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.

    The following will serve as active pallbearers: Brent Bennett, Johnny Buck, Robert Hedgepeth, Jr., Steele Cox, Carl Gene Woolard, and David Ipock. Jimmy Hedgepeth will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

    Mrs. Alligood was born in Beaufort County on October 29, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Tom Asby and Mary Magdalene "Maggie" Tetterton Asby. Mrs. Alligood was a homemaker and member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ. She was a member of the Coastal Plains Chapter Car Club. In her spare time, Mrs. Alligood loved to travel.

    On March 26, 1970, she married Lane Alligood, who survives.

    Surviving with her husband, Lane Alligood of the home; son, Eric Hill, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Vanceboro; step-son, Paris Alligood and his wife, Linda of Washington; two grandchildren, Amber Hill of Vanceboro, Gregory Hill, U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Florida; three sisters, Louise Ipock and her husband, Herbert of Bridgeton, Harriett Hedgepeth of Washington, Edna Buck and her husband, Lloyd of Vanceboro; and special friend and nurse, Charlotte Harris of Bryson City.

    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Alligood was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Alligood and three brothers, George H. Asby, Charlie Asby, Jr. and James Thomas Asby.

    The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Paul Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington and other times at her home.
