The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center offering Lunch and Learn Lymphedema – Who’s at risk?

    (Washington, NC)     The Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center offers a variety of special programs and activities to help cancer patients, survivors as well as their primary caregivers deal with the emotional and physical challenges associated with having cancer. The Cancer Center's vision is to provide integrative therapies that complement traditional care at no cost to the participant. The programs are not limited to patients of the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, any survivor or caregiver is welcome!

    Lunch and Learn – Lymphedema – Who’s at risk?     Tuesday, August 25th at 12:00 pm
    Grace Martin Harwell Senior Center • 310 West Main Street, Washington

    Join us for lunch and a presentation by Physical Therapist and Certified Lymphedema Therapist Maria Stalls. Learn more about risk factors, how to reduce your risk and signs and symptoms of lymphedema. Please register by August 21st by calling the Cancer Center at 974-9409.

    A hands-on group session for adult female cancer survivors currently in treatment who are coping with the side effects of chemotherapy and/or radiation treatment. Please register by calling the Cancer Center at 975-4308.

    Therapeutic Massage

    FREE 25 minute hand, foot, or chair massage each week for patients, survivors, and caregivers. We have 2 locations in Washington for your massage. Call either location for your appointment! Cancer Center (252) 975-4308 or Market Street Massage (252) 946-8989. All Cancer Center programs are FREE thanks to the community support of the Shepard Cancer Foundation.

    Restorative Yoga & Meditation

    Yoga classes that emphasize relaxation for the body, mind, and spirit. Every Monday at 6:00 p.m. at Vidant Wellness Center. Pre-registration is not required.
