Press Release:

RALEIGH, NC     The North Carolina Republican Party (NCGOP) released the following statement on Hillary Clinton's campaign stop in North Carolina after the first presidential debate:

  • "Our country is headed in the wrong direction and last night's debate proved that this nation needs Donald Trump negotiating on our behalf - not Hillary Clinton. Now, Clinton is in the Old North State in an attempt to energize North Carolina voters but they won't be fooled. While our GOP leaders grew our state's economy by lowering taxes and creating jobs, Hillary Clinton will again today discuss her economic plan, which will increase taxes, cut jobs and implement more of the same failed policies that have hurt the American people over the last eight years. She's proven time and time again that her judgement is totally flawed and that she cannot be trusted - that was no different last night and North Carolinians know it." - NCGOP Chairman Robin Hayes
