Press Release:

BURLINGTON, NC     For the second time in less than a month, a local GOP office has endured an act of political violence and vandalism.

"This marks the second crime of this nature in my district within a month. First the firebombing at the Orange County GOP and then similar graffiti profanity again here at the Alamance GOP offices. One of life's greatest opportunities is to bring healing when you've been treated unfairly or wronged. These words of hate create an opportunity for us to serve one another, be hands and feet for this community, and to do so with grateful hearts. We are incredibly blessed to live in a country where we may live and work in accordance to our peacefully held beliefs without fear of encountering violence. This should motivate every single North Carolinian to go to the polls as a way to secure that very freedom. I have every confidence that Alamance County GOP will continue to stand strong for the cause of liberty and move forward with forgiveness towards those who have committed this act," said Representative Mark Walker, NC 6.

"This is deeply troubling to our Alamance County GOP members and volunteers, but even more so, this is troubling for our nation. As Chairman, it is my hope that we can be an example to the world that this behavior is unacceptable, and it will not deter us from the noble responsibility we have to live and vote in the freedom that has been given to us. We are open for business, and have a lot of work to do in the next four days, and nothing is going to get in our way," said Alamance County GOP Chairman Ben York.
