Over the river, and through the woods,
We go to escape the fray;
Of political disputes and constant rebukes
This Thanksgiving holiday.
Over the river, and through the woods,
Oh, how the talk does blow;
It burns the ears and fans the fears
Where ever we may to go.
Over the river, and through the woods,
We've got to get away;
From Cooper, McCrory and all their ploys
Just give it a rest one day.
Over the river, and through the woods,
Can we just call time out?
It's gotten so deep, it's started to creep
Let's stop it right now, we shout.
Over the river, and through the woods,
It's time for a holiday truce;
Enough politics, we're tired of their tricks
And fed up with this abuse.
Over the river, and though the woods
We're ready to shop and play;
We're tired of this, we've reached the abyss
Let's talk something else, we pray.

Turn on the Christmas lights
At least we agree, they bring us more glee
Than constant political fights.
