East Carolina Endoscopy Center Achieves AAAHC Re-accreditation | Eastern NC Now

    GREENVILLE - East Carolina Endoscopy Center (ECEC), a Vidant Health entity, has achieved re-accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes this ambulatory surgery center from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

    Status as an accredited organization means ECEC has met nationally-recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC. More than 6,000 ambulatory health care organizations across the United States are accredited by AAAHC.

    "We are pleased to have recently received re-accreditation for our endoscopy unit through AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization that closely examined our facility and procedures," said Dr. Glenn Harvin, ECEC medical director. "We as an organization take pride in providing the highest quality of care for our patients."

    Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors - physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

    East Carolina Endoscopy Center provides outpatient endoscopy procedures in a safe, comfortable and convenient setting. Call 252-816-0800 to speak with a member of the staff about scheduling a preventive colonoscopy screening. The center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
