    Mrs. Christine Snyder Waters Stokesberry, age 89, a resident of Pinetown, NC, died Friday February 10, 2017 at Autumnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation.

    A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM in Monday, February 13, 2017 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Tony Parrish and Raymond Lagcher. Pallbearers will include the Deacons from the Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    Christine was born on November 22, 1927 to the late Arthur Harrison Snyder and Sarah Elizabeth Herline Ellis. She attended Pantego High School. Christine was a homemaker and assisted her first husband in Billy's Gulf and T.V. Service in the Free Union Communitty. Christine sang with New Day Spirituals of Free Union Church, she also sang in the Jean & Christine Duet which was heard on the radio on WRRF Washington in the 1940's. She was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. On April 25, 1947 she married her first husband William Taylor Waters, Jr. who preceded her in death on September 23, 1994. She married again to Lonnie James Stokesberry on May 3, 2005. Christine was a survivor of the TB epidemic of the 1940's.

    Survivors include her husband Lonnie James Stokesberry, a son Michael L. Waters and his companion Cyndi A. Hall of Pinetown, four step children, Sandra Kay Stokesberry Brown of Washington, Patsy Ann Stokesberry Oliver of Pinetown, Danny James Stokesberry of Antler, OK, Shirley Dean Stokesberry Spencer of Belhaven, and one granddaughter Katie Lauren Waters of Boone.

    She is preceded in death by two sisters Grace S. Davis and Johanna S. Bryant.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Sunday February 12, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
