    Mrs. Edna T. Woolard, of Broad Creek Community, Washington, died Monday, April 10, 2017 at her home.

    The family will receive friends at Paul Funeral Home on Tuesday between 7:00 and 8:30 PM. A graveside service will be Wednesday April 12 at 2:00 PM at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, conducted by Tony Krantz, minister at Beaver Dam Church of Christ.

    The following great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers for "Miss" Edna: Ryan Taylor, Zach and Jordan Cutler, Ras and Blake Daniel, Dylan Cutler, Duncan Youmans.

    Mrs. Woolard was born in Beaufort County, May 31, 1922, daughter of the late Tillman (Tim) Toler and Viola Mae Edwards Toler. She graduated from Bath High School.

    On May 25, 1940 Mrs. Edna married the late Charlie Walter Woolard and they had a family of 5 children, three daughters, the late Sandra Faye Cutler, the late Karen Sue Littlejohn and Michelle W. Everette and two sons, Charles Woolard and wife Brenda, Michael Woolard and wife Peggy.

    Edna's surviving brother, James A. Toler and wife Doris, of Washington, and half-sisters and brother are Margaret and John Bunting and Joan Toler of Southport, NC, Bobby Toler and Anita, of Supply, NC.

    Surviving grandchildren: Felicia Taylor and (William), Kim Roberson and (Todd), Todd Cutler and (Jessica), Winfield Cutler; Patti Kilpatrick and (John); Nicole Davis; Heather Radcliff and (Dale), Bruce Woolard, Ava Tyndall and (Adrian), Che' Youmans and (Lindsey), Amber Hester and (David), Heather Pittman. Family members: Mary Mills and extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews, 18 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

    Mrs. Woolard was active member in the Beaver Dam Church choir and taught Sunday school.

    She was President of the Ever Ready Home Demonstration Club in 1960 and led the Beaufort County Cancer fund drive and volunteered with the 4-H club in the county with her sons. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary Orr Masonic Lodge which she and Charlie Walter enjoyed together.

    She worked in several ladies dress shops for over 20 years in Washington. Also a talented seamstress and loved finding discarded things to turn into treasures. As an avid gardener, she spent many hours in her yard and garden.

    In her later years, she cared for grandchildren and family members without any hesitation. A loving friend to all she came in contact with and every day lived by her motto, "Do what you can, the best you can".

    In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Edna T. Woolard may be made to the charity of one's choice.
