On Monday September 25th 2017 at about 2:00 pm a resident of Slatestone Road in Washington was robbed in his garage at gun point. The victim told Beaufort County Deputies a black male suspect came into his garage, pointed a gun at him and demanded money. Deputies responded to the call and began searching for evidence and taking victim and witness statements.

Approximately one hour later the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office responded to a second call reporting an attempted armed robbery on the Bright Road in Chocowinity. The victim in this case told Deputies a black male suspect approached him in his yard and after a short conversation the suspect pointed a gun and attempted to rob him. After conducting victim and witness interviews in both incidents and getting a similar suspect and suspect vehicle description, Deputies soon realized they were looking for the same person(s) in both incidents.

The next day after receiving a Crime Stoppers Tip from an anonymous caller, Deputies were able to identify a possible suspect. During the course of the investigation both victims were able to positively identify Pernell S. Razor, age 23 of Washington, as the person who pointed a gun at them.

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017 a search warrant and arrest warrants were served on Razor at his home on Mallison Harvey Road in Washington. Acting on the same Crime Stoppers Tip, Deputies were able to recover a gun believed to have been used in these crimes at another residence near Razor's home. Pernell S. Razor is currently charged with one count of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, one count of Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering and one count of Felony Assault on a Handicapped Person.
