The Tax Foundation has just released its 2018 State Business Tax Climate Index, and North Carolina holds on to the number 11 position.

NC ranks best among all our neighboring states, and showed improvement in the corporate and individual tax categories thanks to dropping both those rates this year.

After years languishing among the ten worst tax climates in the nation - including a dismal 44th as recently as 2013 - North Carolina's historic tax reforms passed in 2013 greatly improved its ranking, immediately leaping into the top 20 then showing continued improvement ever since due to continued improvements.
