    Mrs. Nina Bell Cox Lewis, age 87, a resident of 116 South King Street, Bath, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 at her home.

    The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at The River Church (formerly known as Bath Church of God). A graveside service will follow at 2:30 PM at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Pastor Ron Bousquet.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: James Lewis, Chris Lewis, Dwayne Gurganus, Gary Buck, Keith Bousquet, and Waylon Alligood. Billy Gurganus and Peter Courson will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Mrs. Lewis was born in Beaufort County on December 8, 1929. She was the daughter of the late Mose Allen Cox and Katie Cox. Mrs. Lewis was a retired custodian with Bath School. She was an active member of the Bath Church of God (now The River) for over 50 years. In her spare time, Mrs. Lewis enjoyed working in her flower garden, being with her grandchildren and sitting on her porch.

    Mrs. Lewis was married to Roy Elwood Lewis, who preceded her in death.

    She is survived her son, Mose Elwood Lewis and his wife, Cheryl of Bath; three grandsons, Christopher Steven Lewis and his wife, Jennie of Bath, James Roy Lewis of Bath, Michael Lewis of Washington; granddaughter, Stephanie Lewis of Washington and sister, Dorothy Koonce of Ayden.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Foster and Shirley Cox.

    The family will receive friends at other times at her home.
