I could be wrong on this but I think the media is over reacting once again to the provocative techniques of the Deal Maker regarding tariffs and fair trade.  (apology pending if this post is premature) Bobby Tony  

 Here is an article from none other than CNN way back in March of  2016 about  The crisis facing the U.S. steel industry -CNN 2016 Somebody ought to do something about this. Well here goes:

A shot across the bow

 That most useful reference, Admiral William Smyth's The sailor's word-book: an alphabetical digest of nautical terms, 1865, defines the bows thus:

"The fore-end of a ship or boat; being the rounding part of a vessel forward, beginning on both sides where the planks arch inwards, and terminating where they close, at the rabbet of the stem or prow, being larboard or starboard from that division"

Apparently the news media still does not understand the technique.  They keep talking a bout a Trade War when all we are doing is sending a signal. I particularly like this clip since it looks like an over reaction to standard Naval Procedure by a pencil neck geek.
