Press Release:

Kitty Hawk, North Carolina     State Senator Bill Rabon is the latest Republican leader who has come out with a strong endorsement of Conservative businessman Clark Twiddy for the North Carolina Senate. Senator Rabon holds the key post of Rules Chairman of the North Carolina State Senate and that position is one that allows him to control the flow of legislation.

"As one of only five Senators representing the coastal region of North Carolina, I cannot stress to you the importance of having a strong, rational, Conservative voice representing you and your interests in the State Legislature" Rabon said in his endorsement letter.

  • "With the huge influx of population to our inland urban areas, now more than ever, it is important to have a strong and effective voice that can articulate the special needs of our coastal regions. As I look around the state at the upcoming Primary, I see no race with such a clear-cut choice as Clark Twiddy."

Senator Rabon has worked with Twiddy on several issues on the state level, but noted his work wth him on the State Community College Board as an example of seeing the attributes that would make a good Senator. "Those of us who live on the coast know the importance of having someone with a steady hand at the helm when going through the inevitable storms that come our way. It has been my experience that Clark Twiddy is the unwavering hand that is needed to help deliver the unique message of our coastal communities to Raleigh" Rabon said.

Senator Rabon's letter noted that he has been watching the campaign closely and made reference to the behavior of Twiddly's opponent, Bob Steinburg. Rabon asked voters to "send a clear message that political attacks that do nothing to further our mutually shared goals should not be rewarded. We need citizens of character that can stand for our Conservative principles without attacking those who might disagree with them. We need someone who is willing to work with the Republican leadership; not against them. We need someone like Clark Twiddy."

Clark Twiddy responded to the endorsement by saying "I am honored to have Senator Rabon's support and look forward to the opportunity to work with him to carry our Conservative coastal message to Raleigh."
