Republican Office Window Shattered with Brick, 'ABOLISH ICE' Painted on Sidewalk | Eastern North Carolina Now

Publisher's note: This informational nugget was sent to me by Ben Shapiro, who represents the Daily Wire, and since this is one of the most topical news events, it should be published on BCN.

On Tuesday, The Daily Caller reported that protesters had shattered the window of the Nebraska Republican Party headquarters with a brick, and spray painted a message on the sidewalk outside: "ABOLISH ICE." Nebraska GOP executive director Kenny Zoeller told the Caller's Peter Hasson, ""This destructive criminal activity is disappointing, but unsurprising, given the increasingly radical rhetoric of national Democrat leaders and candidates like Jane Raybould, Kara Eastman, and Jane Kleeb. Violence is the natural result of the Left's statements urging Democrats to literally 'push back' on Republicans and 'resist' at any cost. Voters face a stark choice between sanity and the rabid, hateful words that sparked this vandalism."

Public mob action against Republicans has been radically increasing in recent weeks. In the last three weeks, Huckabee Sanders had to be given Secret Service protection, Senator Rand Paul's family was threatened with death by a man saying he wanted to chop Paul up with an axe, Secretary of Homeland Security Kristjen Nielsen was run out of a restaurant by protesters, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao was accosted and berated by several men outside a dinner party. The list grows longer and longer.

Democratic rhetoric is heating up simultaneously.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) told a rally two weeks ago, "Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up and if you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere." The Washington Post's former conservative columnist Jennifer Rubin stated on MSNBC this week that Sarah Huckabee Sanders has "no right to live a life of no fuss, no muss, after lying to the press, after inciting against the press. These people should be made uncomfortable, and I think that is a life sentence."

If Trump supporters threw rocks through the windows of a Democratic Party headquarters this week, it would be national news; in fact, it was national news in 2016 when the media simply supposed (without evidence) that Trump supporters had been knocking over Jewish headstones in cemeteries. But some of the same Leftists who complain about lack of trigger warnings seem rather enthusiastic about the new calls to public "resistance" up to and including confrontations, property damage, and occasional violence.
