Press Release:

GREENVILLE, N.C.     Studio 9 opened its doors at 213 W 9th Street. Originally the Dirty LAM, started by local artists Laura Wood, Autumn Brown and Matt Amante, Studio 9 has transformed into an art gallery and a multi-artist studio lab.

Sculptor, Jordan Parah, manages the studio space with current artists ranging in mediums from sculpture, jewelry, photography, ceramics, painting and mixed media. Artist studio opportunities for rent exist. Parah graduated from East Carolina University with a BFA in Sculpture and minor in Art History. She specializes in small and large-scale metal sculptures. Parah's work seeks to connect contrasting forms, shapes, and colors in a harmonious manner.

Parah is joined by Liz Steiner who creates jewelry, handmade books, and works on paper. Much of her work is inspired by the North Carolina landscape, with many pieces incorporating found objects.

Studio artist Jeremiah Barnes captures moments of life onto film. He specializes in traditional methods of photography with darkroom development. Barnes uses his experience and knowledge to take photos with artistic intent, giving the images a deeper meaning.

Studio 9 creates an opportunity for artists to maker space and commercial retail in Uptown Greenville. The artists are constantly inspired by their surroundings and the studio is a place where diversity comes together. All are welcome to visit and purchase art from the studio artists.
