    Mr. Millard Ennis Williams, age 80, a resident of 1570 Lizzard Slip Road, Washington, died Thursday, November 22, 2018.

    Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 29, 2019 at 1pm at First Baptist Church in Washington, officiated by Dr. Greg Barmer. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are David Williams, Josh Williams, Clayton Williams, Tanner Williams, Buddy Parker and Roy Lee Parker. Honorary pallbearers are Alton Parker and George Parker.

    The family will receive friends from noon until 1pm in the church sanctuary prior to the service on Thursday.

    Mr. Williams was born in Wendell, N.C. on July 20, 1938. He was the son of the late Millard "Pete" Williams and Thelma Winston Williams. Mr. Williams served in the U.S. Navy as a member of an underwater demolition team. He worked in sales with Kraft Foods prior to a 40 year career in Hospitality Management. Mr. Williams was a member of the Woodridge Baptist Church in Mobile, Alabama. He was a former Rotarian, Jaycee, church deacon, and held numerous affiliations with Chamber of Commerce organizations. In his spare time, Mr. Williams was an avid reader with a particular interest in history. He enjoyed boating, traveling by motorhome and visiting historical sites and museums.

    On October 27, 1956, he married the former Patsy Page Williams, who preceded him in death, January 17, 2018.

    Mr. Williams is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Williams Watkins (Wayne), Denise Williams Warren (Don) all of Washington; four grandchildren, Tyler Watkins (Suzanne), Ryal Watkins, Stuart Warren (Stephanie), Jaret Warren (Kim); seven great grandchildren, Kendall Watkins, Emery Watkins, Raley Warren, Brennon Warren, Lyda Warren, Lainey Warren, Leyton Warren; brother, Ronald Williams of Fuquay Varina; and beloved canine companion, Jake.

    In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Williams, a sister, Gale Williams Coats, and a grandson, Trent Emery Watkins.

    Flowers are appreciated, or memorials may be made the Beaufort County Humane Society, American Diabetes Association, The Watkins Athletic Award, or The First Baptist Church in Washington.
