Drugs Busted in the Long Shadow of a Beaufort County School | Eastern NC Now

On 3-8-2019, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Michael Booth, 36 years of age, of 1272 Westridge Court Apartment 8 in Greenville and Giles Keyes, 54 years of age, of 606 Bonner Street in Washington.

    On 3-8-2019, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Michael Booth, 36 years of age, of 1272 Westridge Court Apartment 8 in Greenville and Giles Keyes, 54 years of age, of 606 Bonner Street in Washington. Booth was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine within 1000 feet of John Cotton Tayloe Elementary School and 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana within 1000 feet of John Cotton Tayloe Elementary School. Keyes was charged with 2 counts of Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana within 1000 feet of John Cotton Tayloe Elementary School.

    On 03-14-2018, Investigators arrested Jermaine Moore, 36 years of age, of 810 W. 8th Street in Washington. Moore was charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine within 1000 feet of John Cotton Tayloe Elementary School and Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana within 1000 feet of John Cotton Tayloe Elementary School.

    Their arrest stemmed from Investigators making controlled purchases of cocaine and marijuana from Booth, Keyes and Moore at Booth's Car Wash. Investigators executed a Search Warrant at Booth's Car Wash and found approximately 125 grams of marijuana, packaging material used to package marijuana and a digital scale.

    Booth was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $30,000.00 secured bond. Keyes was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $7,500.00 secured bond. Moore was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $40,000.00 secured bond.

On April 17, 2026 Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff Office received information that 37-year-old Clinton Alexander Daniel of Chocowinity NC had strangled his 4-year-old son.
On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.
In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.

On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.
On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
Today I officially filed for re-election, seeking to continue my service to the citizens of Beaufort County.
On January 27, 2025 Washington Police Department officers and Washington Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the area of Bonner Street and E. Martin Luther King Jr. Street in reference to a report of a motor vehicle crash.
During the past month, members from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit, Patrol Division and K9 Unit have charged seven people in the county on felony drug charges.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office needs your help locating a wanted person. On October 27, 2025, 40-year-old Givon Montrell Hodges of Washington, NC left Superior Court in Beaufort County and failed to return.
