Press Release:

WASHINGTON, N.C.     Old books, a handed-down lamp, tea cups; many of us have old items in storage or around the house. These items may not be of value to us, but they may be sought after by collectors. On March 20 from 1:00-5:00 p.m., the Beaufort County Community College library will host an antique evaluation fair with local dealers an appraiser who specialize in books, dishware, and other collectibles. The library invites the public to attend the free event and asks that people limit themselves to five items and do not bring weapons.

"Are you being realistic about how much your grandmother's heirloom jewelry is worth?" asked Paula Hopper, director of the library. "It might be something you can sell online, but it might also be something that is not worth your time. If you choose to sell it, are you asking enough for it?"

BCCC has a strict policy against weapons, including firearms and knives. Please do not bring these items to campus.

The BCCC library, located in Building 5, is always open to the public and regularly hosts community events. Last month, the library hosted Dr. Jason Miller from N.C. State University, who discussed Langston Hughes and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
