Mrs. Ginger Whichard Ormond Paramore, age 83, a resident of 117 Mansfield Road, Washington, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at her home.

    Mrs. Ginger Whichard Ormond Paramore, age 83, a resident of 117 Mansfield Road, Washington, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at her home.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 28, 2019 at the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington officiated by Chaplain Daryl Kelly. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery.

    The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM on Saturday at Paul Funeral Home in Washington and other times at her home.

    Ginger was born in Washington, NC on January 9, 1936, daughter of the late William (Henry) Whichard and Lizzie Mobley Whichard. She was raised at Whichard's Beach where she enjoyed skiing, fishing, boat riding and swimming. She enjoyed all water sports and became a Junior Life Guard. She enjoyed doing yardwork and being with family and friends.

    On January 29, 1953, she married David Ormond. They were owners/managers of Montgomery Wards in Washington for 16 years, until his health began to fail. He passed away on October 15, 1988. Ginger went to work at J.C. Penneys in the catalog department in Greenville in 1990 and retired in 1996. On September 2, 1990, she married William Floyd Paramore who preceded her in death on September 10, 2003.

    She is survived by her two sons: Michael David Ormond and Rodney Dale Ormond both of Washington; three grandchildren: Angie Ormond Howlett and husband Jason Howlett, Michael Ray Ormond and wife Nicole Hardy Ormond and Brittany Ormond and friend Matt King; great grandchildren: Michael Kane Ormond, Axel Ray Ormond, Eli Staton Ormond and Jayden Lee Howlett and her brothers: Warren Whichard and wife Geneva, William Henry Whichard, Jr., (Billy) and Bobby Whichard and wife Cee.

    In addition to her parents and husbands, she is preceded in death by her sisters: Gladys W. Crisp, Ruth W. Morris and Peggy Woolard.

    Ginger loved playing cards with her brother Billy and friends Lulu and Kenny Moore. She loved animals, her miniature dachshund, Reese Dale and cats, Kelly and Smokey who are waiting for her over the Rainbow Bridge.
