Commissioner Hood Richardson Endorses Candidate Joan Perry for the U.S. House - 3rd District | Eastern NC Now

    Publisher's note: Hood Richardson is the defacto leader of the Conservative Club, and as that leader has elected to take sides in the runoff race for the right to stand as the Republican representative to run for the 3rd District congressional seat. These words from The Hood wee sent to his club members, of which I am one, by email.

    Joan Perry was our speaker last week at the conservative club meeting. She landed on all the Conservative principles. She is against abortion, for limited terms, for lower taxes, for closing the border, against medicaid expansion etc, she is a hunter and supports gun right just to name a few.

    Murphy is for expanding medicaid, has reportedly missed over 400 votes since he was elected to the NC House, has tried to stop treasurer Dale Folwell from reducing medical costs in North Carolina. Basically, I see him as a good old boy Liberal.

    There are reports that Murphy intends to continue his medical practice while he serves in Washington, DC. This is almost impossible to do. He will get a large salary (about $175,000 from the government while in office). Just this week we found out how he can get paid for continuing his practice, plus, be paid for serving in congress. the medical firm he is a part of is being bought by Vidant. He will be on a salary for Vidant. That salary is estimated to be $250,000 per year. Vidant can continue to pay him his salary while he serves in Washington, DC. The total comes to $425,000 per year, plus benefits from congress and Vidant. This is a really sweet deal. Who do you think Murphy will represent in Washington? Certainly not me and you.

    Taking all of this together, I believe Joan Perry is the best person to represent us in Washington, DC. Vote for Joan Perry.
