   On April 3, 2012, Investigators
Angel Trevino
with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested Lawrence Antonio Royster, age 26, of 207 Green Forest Drive Oxford, NC, Jamal Antonio Royster, age 20, of 2537 Dalton Mill Rd. Oxford, NC, Angel Trevino, age 21, of 2532 Dalton Mill Rd. Oxford, NC, Michael Andre McDonald, age 27, of 916 Carolina Avenue Washington and James Darnelle Freeman, age 22, of 316 Van Norden St. Washington. Their arrests stemmed from Investigators in the Drug Unit executing a search warrant at a hotel room at the Days Inn in Washington. A search of Jamal Royster, Lawrence Royster and Angel Trevino’s room revealed 12 grams of crack-cocaine, $913.00 and drug packaging material including: digital scales and plastic baggies. Investigators linked these individuals to Andrew McDonald and James Freeman who were staying in a separate room at the hotel. A search of their room revealed quantities of cocaine and crack-cocaine manufacturing material.

   Lawrence Royster, Angel Trevino and Jamal Royster were charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity, Conspire to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All three were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $50,000 secured bonds. Michael McDonald and James Freeman were charged with Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Freeman and McDonald were confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under $5,000 secured bonds

On Tuesday, February 6, 2024 Mykal Coleman was arrested and confined to the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $75,000.00 secure bond.
On October 9, 2023, Ashun Anthony, age 24 of Washington, NC was indicted by a Beaufort County Grand Jury for the crime of Death by Distribution in connection with the April 29, 2022 death of 31 year old Quintin Freeman

On August 02, 2023, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 5833 Bonnerton Rd. in Edward, NC. As a result, Deputies seized over 100 grams of the powerful synthetic opioid known as fentanyl.
