Tillie Braddy

Died: November 29, 2019
    Lena Adelaide "Tillie" Woolard Braddy, age 73, a resident of the Douglas Crossroads community, Washington, died Friday, November 29, 2019 surrounded by the ones she loved.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday December 1, 2019 at Zion Episcopal Church conducted by Minister James Hackney. Burial will follow in Zion Episcopal Church Cemetery.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Kenny Adams, Steve Braddy, Timmy Douglas, Tom Grubb, William Walker and Shannon Woolard

    Mrs. Braddy was born in Beaufort County on December 18, 1945, to the late Frank (Dick) and Lucy Hodges Woolard. Mrs. Braddy enjoyed a long career creating beautiful flower designs. She started with her aunt at Tideland Florist. She then managed The House Next Door on River Road for many years. Mrs. Braddy finished out her career as the floral manager with the Piggly Wiggly in Washington. She was a member of Zion Episcopal Church where she has served on the Church vestry and various other committees. Mrs. Braddy was an active member of the Saturday Night Jamboree.

    On December 20, 1963, she married Swindell Braddy who proceeded her in death on August 15, 2016.

    Mrs. Braddy is survived by two daughters, Cecilia Cutler and husband Michael Wayne of Chocowinity, Kimberly Braddy of Washington; four grandchildren, Jordy Cutler, Kaitlyn Braddy and husband James, Taylor Tippett and husband Josh, Zachary Boland; two great grandchildren, Addison and Emma Cutler, and expecting a third great grandchild in February three sisters, Caroline Braddy, Connie Latham and Agnes Latham.

    She was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Bryan Cutler.

    The family is forever grateful for the family and friends who made it possible for her to remain home during her illness. Love knows no limits.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM Saturday November 30, 2019 in the Douglas Hall at Zion Episcopal Church.
