    Dorothy Asprey, 82, of Washington, North Carolina, passed away November 27th, 2019.

    Dorothy was born to Cyril and Florence Lloyd, September 5, 1937, in Dudley, England. She married Lawson Asprey in 1956 and lived together in England, New York, Massachusetts and later, Virginia. Together they raised 3 children.

    She leaves as her legacy to her 3 children: Jayne Meisell (John), Paul Asprey (Cyndi), Debra Maier (Don). She also leaves to cherish her memory 7 grandchildren: Brittany, Jason, Steven, Jessica, Brian, Ashley, and Aaron. 4 great-grandchildren: Emily, Jace, Noah and Evan. She also leaves one brother, David.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Lawson Asprey, sister Pat, and brothers Paul and John.

    Dorothy will be remembered as a fun, loving, outspoken and beautifully dressed lady. She was always willing to help others and in doing this participated for some years volunteering at the Blind Center in Washington, NC.

    A celebration of life is scheduled for December 2, 2019, 6pm at her granddaughter Brittany Lane's home at 204 North Eden Drive in Washington, NC. A burial will follow in December in Florida so Dorothy can rest next to husband Lawson. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Blind Center at 221 N Harvey St. Washington, NC 27889.
