Jeanne A. Trankle | Eastern North Carolina Now

May 15, 1946 - January 7, 2020

Mrs. Jeanne Ann Trankle, age 73, a resident of Washington, NC was called home to claim her seat at the table to His right on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at home surrounded by her family.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 10, 2020 at Eastern Carolina Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro NC, officiated by pastors Danny and Angela Robertson. A memorial service will be held at River City Christian Center at 7:00 PM also officiated by pastors Danny and Angela Robertson. The family will receive friends following the service at River City.

Jeanne was born in Stillwater, OK on May 15, 1946 daughter of the late Edwin Scott Overman and the late Adalaide Charlotte Tancredi. She was a 1964 graduate of the Oakwood Friends School in Poughkeepsie, NY. Following high school, she continued her education by attending Albright College in Reading PA. After graduating she spent a couple of years in Paris, France and then came back to the states attending the University of Maryland in College Park MD. An avid fan of the performing arts, she was not only a self-proclaimed judge on America's Got Talent, but she also performed on American Bandstand in her younger years. Throughout the years between she carried her joy as a fabulous tambourine player in her home church of Mt. Oak United Methodist Church in Mitchellville, MD. On August 15, 1981 she married the late Naval Korean War Veteran, William Henry Trankle "Mr. Wonderful". As first mate to her loving sailor they fervently navigated the open waters as "Seekers" of his kingdom.

Jeanne always had a smile on her face and a bear hug for anyone she came into contact with. She preached legacy to her kids and grandkids and made it a point to show what it was like to treat others with love and generosity by her daily walk with Christ. She has now been greeted by his Lord and Savior with the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant". There will be a joyful reunion and celebration with the saints who have preceded her and Jesus himself! The celebration will be eternal.

Her life was dedicated to her Lord and then to her family. Surviving her are her children: son, George W. Trankle of Glenburnie MD, daughter, Keri L. Rota of Edmond OK and son, Scott R. Nunn with wife Shannon of New Bern NC; sixteen grandchildren: Jessica, Briana, Valerie, Abigail, Wesley, William, Lydia, Brynn, Edyn, Jordan, Devin, Sydney, Olivia, Chloe, Sofia and Remington; three great grandchildren: Carolina, Madelyn, August and her beloved River City Christian Center "family"! Jeanne was predeceased by her husband "Mr. Wonderful".

She was the ultimate host during the last few days of her life and leaves us all with confidence that we will see her again!

In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions to be made to River City Christian Center, 3806 River Rd., Washington, NC 27889.

Online condolences may be offered to the family by visiting www.paulfuneralhome.com.

Her calling was to serve, and she did that with a humble heart and some extraordinary culinary skills. She LOVED feeding people as food was her joy. She "Fought the good fight, kept the faith and finished the race"! She considered her life's goal accomplished: she had provided well for us all. Our beloved Jeanne Trankle danced off the planet with Jesus!!

Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington is honored to serve the Trankle family.
