    On 3/12/2020, Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit arrested Dylan Holcomb, 26 years of age, of 104 Tupelo Lane, Pamlico Plantation in Washington. Holcombe was charged with 2 counts Trafficking in Opioids (Fentanyl) by Possession, 2 counts of Trafficking in Opioids (Fentanyl) by Manufacturing, 2 counts of Trafficking in Opioids (Fentanyl) by Transportation, Maintaining a vehicle and a residence for the purpose of storing and selling a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

    Holcomb's arrest stemmed from Investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff's Office Drug Unit, Agents with DEA and Agents with the SBI Clandestine Unit executing a Search Warrant on Dylan Holcomb's residence located at 104 Tupelo Lane, Pamlico Plantation in Washington. Investigators found a pill manufacturing operation inside the residence.

    Investigators found a pill press, approximately 10 grams of powdered fentanyl, approximately 1,575 fentanyl laced pills, approximately 418 Xanax shaped pills, packaging material, a digital scale, US postal shipping packages and a custom built 9mm pistol with a suppressor.

    Holcomb was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $750,000.00 secured bond.

This week, the North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association hosted sheriffs, sheriffs’ personnel and their families for their Annual Business Conference.
On July 17th, 2026, members of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 38-year-old Tyshawn Laron Mann of Englehard NC for drug trafficking and other drug related offenses.
On July 6, 2026, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office along with members of the NC SBI Criminal Apprehension Team located and apprehended 39-year-old Leslie Michael Kitchengs in the Long Acre Area.
On April 17, 2026 Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff Office received information that 37-year-old Clinton Alexander Daniel of Chocowinity NC had strangled his 4-year-old son.
On Monday, April 13, 2026, the Beaufort County Grand Jury returned a True Bill of Indictment against 24-year-old Brady O’Neil Daniels of Wallace, NC, charging him with the murder of Billy Joe Bell in 2023.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call in a wooded area near Pamlico Plantation in Washington NC.

In the past month, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Patrol and K9 Division have arrested 10 people in the county on felony drug charges.
On December 12, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 27-year-old Nikkopenia Terra Echevarria of Washington, NC on multiple felony drug charges.
Beaufort County District Attorney Thomas D. Anglim disclosed that Ryan Austin Stalls was convicted of two counts attempted murder and one count of attempted first degree ex offense and first-degree kidnapping following a guilty plea in Beaufort County on December 9, 2025.
On December 22, 2025, Deputies from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the Aurora/Richlands area for a report of a foul odor coming from inside a rental property where a tenant had previously moved out.
On December 5, 2025, Deputies with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Drug Unit arrested 39-year-old, Arnold Gerard Whitney of Belhaven, NC on multiple drug and weapon charges.
On Tuesday December 9th, 2025, 33-year-old Ryan Austin Stalls pled guilty in Beaufort County Superior Court to the following charges:
