What Toilet Paper Can Teach Us About Socialism | Eastern NC Now

Yesterday I went grocery shopping with my wife. Well, actually, I waited in the car while she did the shopping. On the way home she told me that the TP shelves, the facial tissue (i.e. Kleernex. Puffs, etc) shelves and virtually all paper product shelves were empty. It occurred to me that what she saw was a perfect example of why Socialism wouldn't work in America.

Socialists assume that the basic nature of people is (should be; must be) cooperative. If you believe that, forget about all the free stuff the Libs promise and just take a look around the grocery store. It is really time for folks to wise up - especially the youngsters who have bought into the Bern's Fairy Tales. Someone needs to take Bernie's minions into the stores to expose them to the real world and show them what's happened there. What they will see is empty shelves where the TP used to be, empty shelves where the facial tissue (Kleenex, Puffs, etc) used to be, and even more empty shelves where the paper table napkins and other paper products used to be. How they got that way sounds a lot more like "I've got mine. You get yours" than it does, "Let us look out for each other."

    So much for American Socialism.
