More Poor Management in Beaufort County Government | Eastern NC Now

    The Beaufort County Commissioners were called into Special Session to address crisis about how much to pay Pitt County to house prisoners while repairs are being done to the current jail. You can watch the meeting here:

   

    Commentary

    One should remember that the root of this problem goes back months, even years. It is the result of poor facilities management by county officials. These problems with the jail doors did not just suddenly crop up. They have been there for a long time and could/should have been repaired when it could have been done without creating this "crisis."
