    Mrs. Edna Brown Toler, age 80, a resident of Washington, died Thursday, July 2, 2020 at her home.

    Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery, conducted by Pastor Randy Wallace.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Ryan Walston, Ronnie Brown, Dave Cutler, Virgil Toler, Tony Davenport, Jr., and Parker Williams. Rudy Toler, Jr. and Noah Jones will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Mrs. Toler was born in Beaufort County on August 23, 1939. She was the daughter of the late John R. Brown and Myrtle Tetterton Brown. Mrs. Toler was a homemaker. She was a member of the Fifteenth Street Church of God, the Old Ford VFD Ladies' Auxiliary and the National Readers Research. In her spare time, Mrs. Toler enjoyed cooking, canning food and doing her church work.

    On October 16, 1954, she married Robert Toler, Jr., who preceded her in death, June 9, 1987.

    Mrs. Toler is survived by two sons, John R. Toler and wife, Samantha, Kelvin L. Toler and wife, Sheila all of Washington; three daughters, Joyce Toler Little and husband, Tex, Melonie Toler Walston and husband, Tim, Elaine Toler Bennett and husband, J. R. (James) all of Washington; sister, Mary Louise Brown Hopkins of Washington; 13 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

    In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Toler was preceded in death by a sister, Hilda B. Melvin; and three brothers, James "Tommy" Brown, Samuel Brown, and Robert Brown.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2020 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
