Aubrey T. Moore lost his courageous battle with IPF (Interstitial Pulmonary Fibrosis) Thursday morning, November 5, 2020.

Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Aubrey managed his illness with strength and grace. He wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. During his final days he was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, great-grands, and close family friends.

Married to and survived by his high school sweetheart, Audrey Pearl Buck, the love of his life and best friend. He is also survived by his three children, Leisa, Scott and Joe Wayne all of Washington, nine grandchildren, Scottie, Joseph, Ryan, Katlyn, Aaron, Jordan, Riley, Meghan, Alaina, and six great grandchildren, Trey, Avah, Kelly, Easton, Sampson and Coleman all of Washington, one surviving sister, Lorelei Bissette of Greenville, a niece, Maleah Wilson and nephew, Brandon Woolard.

He spent most of his life as the dedicated Dockmaster of the Washington Yacht & Country Club. His love for boating, the water and helping others made it a rewarding and enjoyable career. He always considered the boating family as his extended family. Aubrey's love for boating, fishing, hunting, his love for his animals and spending time with his family fulfilled his life.

He spent most of his time teaching and sharing his knowledge of hands on skills with others. As you were learning to repair something or handle a situation, you were unknowingly being taught a valuable life lesson that you would not forget. Known as a self-taught honest man of his word, he will truly be missed by all.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chocowinity. His faith and his love for God brought him through many hardships in life. One of his favorite things to say was, "Don't worry God has got this, everything is going to be just fine."

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by Rev. Lee Hendricks. Out of concern for others, please wear a mask and practice social distancing.

The family will greet friends other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association in NC, 401 Hawthorne Lane, Suite 110-#298, Charlotte, NC 28204, National Kidney Foundation of NC, 933 Louise Avenue, Suite 101-B, Charlotte, NC 28204 or any organization of one's choice.
