Michigan Legislators Move To Impeach Governor Over Virus Lockdown | Eastern NC Now

    Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has used executive orders to impose new lockdowns on citizens over the Wuhan coronavirus, and legislators are responding by calling for legislative hearings to start the process to impeach Whitmer and remove her from office.

    Whitmer exceeded her authority in previous lockdown orders, the legislature sued her over that, and the state Supreme Court ruled her lockdown executive orders exceeded her Constitutional and statutory authority and declared them illegal. Now, Whitmer is defying her own Supreme Court as well as the legislature by doing it all over again.

    Of course, it would also be nice if the court issued a show cause order for contempt of court and jailed Whitmer for contempt.

    It is telling that anti-lockdown protesters have carried placards saying "Heil Whitmer".

    Whitmer is a power mad tyrant who needs to go.
