Mrs. Maggie Koren Leggett Davenport, age 70, a resident of Spring Arbor, Greenville, died Friday, February 5, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Daniel Haskett.

Mrs. Davenport was born in Washington, N.C. on January 24, 1951. She was the daughter of the late John Churchill Leggett, Sr. and Ida Gray Ricks Leggett. Mrs. Davenport was a homemaker and long-standing member of Free Union, Free Will Baptist Church, in Pinetown. She enjoyed being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and their yearly trips to Cragmont in Black Mountain, NC. After moving from Belhaven to Washington, she became a member of Washington Assembly of God. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts, cake decorating, cross-stitching, puzzles, word searches and was an avid reader. She also enjoyed trips to the mountains where she stayed in awe of God's creation, and loved nothing more than to spend time with her grandchildren.

Mrs. Davenport was married to Kiah Thurman Davenport, who preceded her in death. She was devoted to taking care of him, who was a disabled American Veteran. She missed him daily while she was on this earth, and she kept his memory alive.

Maggie was full of Jesus and shared Him with everyone she came into contact with. She leaned in even more on His mercy and goodness after her stroke in late 2018.

After moving into Spring Arbor of Greenville, she made many more special relationships. She enjoyed others, and never missed arts and crafts, and loved bingo. Maggie developed a wonderful friendship with her roommate, Joan Harrington. The two became family. She also had a soft spot in her heart for Alex Dishmon and believed he knew the answer for any question she had, or would find it. The family also appreciates Alex, along with all of her caregivers for being nothing short of exceptional and for loving our mother.

Mrs. Davenport is survived by her daughters, Patricia Gladson and her husband, David of Greenville, Beverly Dixon and husband, Keith of Washington; three grandchildren, Ashley Tripp and her husband, Tyler, Kylie Dixon, Carter Dixon; and two brothers, Robbie Leggett and his wife, Carol, Ricky Leggett and his wife, Flame; and two very sweet friends, Lou Ellen Adams and Frances Mahoney.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Davenport was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Leggett Clark and Lillian Leggett Edelen; three brothers, Kemp Leggett, Allen Leggett, and John Leggett, Jr.
