Senate Dems & Hopefuls Remain Silent on Ilhan Omar’s Latest Anti-Semitic Comments | Beaufort County Now | Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is at it again, this time comparing the U.S. and Israel’s actions in the Middle East to those of Hamas and the Taliban.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)
Press Release:

Washington, D.C.     Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is at it again, this time comparing the U.S. and Israel's actions in the Middle East to those of Hamas and the Taliban.

The outrageous and nonsensical comments were met with a rebuke from 12 House Democrats which Omar richly described as "harassment and silencing." Yet, Speaker Nancy Pelosi has yet to remove her from her post on the influential Foreign Affairs Committee.

Democrat Senators and Senate Hopefuls have been silent on Omar's recent comments. Far from a backbencher, Omar is one of the most visible and outspoken members of the socialist Left of the Democrat Party and a founder of the "Squad." If they stay silent when an emerging leader of the party spouts hate, what else will they stay silent about?

Statement from NRSC Spokesman T.W. Arrighi: "Another day, another offensive and outlandish comment from Ilhan Omar. Comparing the U.S. and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban are the words of someone who should not be trusted with any decision on U.S. foreign policy, yet she remains a leading voice in the Democrat Party. Democrat Senators and candidates need to speak loudly and denounce this anti-Israel trend growing in their party and demand Omar be removed from her Foreign Affairs post."
