"Antony Blinken confirmed this week that his department had transmitted the invitation to the U.N., which was built in New York City at the invitation of previous Democrat presidents, Franklin Roosevelt and then Harry Truman.

“Responsible nations,” Blinken declared, “must not shrink from scrutiny of their human rights record; rather, they should acknowledge it with the intent to improve.”

“I urge all U.N. member states to join the United States in this (anti-racism) effort,” Blinken said, “and confront the scourge of racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia.”

Blinken added that the U.S. welcomed the U.N. Human Rights Council work. He said the invitation to racism investigators was just the first step in the Biden administration’s plan to issue a standing invitation to all of the organization’s experts on human rights issues to address systemic U.S. racism."
