Texas starts arresting and jailing illegal alien border jumpers | Eastern North Carolina Now

Texas has also begun construction of state-funded border wall

ENCNow

Texas is following through on Governor Abbott's plan for state action to secure the border, by starting construction on a state funded border wall with Mexico, and beginning to arrest and jail illegal alien migrants found in Texas.  A closed state prison in Dilley, Texas has been reopened to house illegal aliens that are arrested. They are charged with trespassing, and often other state crimes like destruction of property.  The state is also inventorying other available space to house illegal aliens who are arrested.  The first batch of ten illegal aliens has arrived at the prison in Dilley, and state officials estimate that 100 to 200 border jumpers will be transported there daily.

Deterrents such as jail can help divert the invasion of illegal aliens into the United States.  A number of conservative run states have sent state police and even local law enforcement officers to Texas to help secure the border.
